Sailing Heritage Society provides diverse services to our community while focusing on individuals with serious medical conditions. Through a coordinated program, we conduct shipboard crew training while providing free therapeutic trips for those in need.

Since 2002 SHS has:
Provided over 325 charity trips,
Hosted over 4400 guests,
Been supported by 8000 volunteer hours,
Created over 500 "Captain's Certificates"

Patients, caregivers and families from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Starlight Children's Foundation, and many more groups have joined our free sailboat cruises since 1995. Sailing trips on Lake Union or Lake Washington, in the heart of Seattle, help alleviate stress that affects the entire family when a member becomes seriously ill.

All ship's guests get a chance to drive this big boat, and each recieves an Honorary Captain Certificate with a polaroid photo of them at the wheel, signed by the Captain and crew.

Weekend Sail Charters in Seattle & Puget Sound

Also consider a three-day weekend visiting Port Townsend, Port Ludlow and Port Madison - a sailing adventure in Puget Sound aboard the Schooner Mallory Todd. This warm, comfortable and stable sailboat is crewed by professional USCG licensed Merchant Marine officers.
