Who We Are
Volunteer Crews
Our crews are all volunteers. They have worked at many varied occupations during
their lives. Carpenters, engineers, plumbers, pilots, technicians, and artists,
all are brought together by the common bond of
the sea. Each brings a generous helping of life experience to their job. Each
is on board to share their cheerful
helping ways with patients and shipmates.
Interested in volunteering? See our Volunteer Checklists on the Contact
Us page. All of our captains are Licensed Merchant Marine Officers with many, many
years of experience and dedication to our mission. |

Caretakers . . . of Wondrous Seagoing Machines We do not regard ourselves as the owners, builders, or restorers of these
vessels we so enjoy. We are the fortunate trustees for a part of living
history. Caretakers of wondrous seagoing machines that sail on beyond human
years training future generations in maritime traditions.

Fundraising Cruises for other Nonprofits
Schooner Mallory Todd is a privately owned vessel that has a long-term reputation for training youth and
contributing to worthwhile causes. Sailing Heritage Society provides no-cost cruises on Mallory for seriously ill
patients and their families - and provides low-cost fundraising cruises for nonprofits when Mallory is not
chartering commercially to cover her own expenses.

Requests Exceed our Capacity
The Sailing Heritage Society provides diverse services to our community while focusing on individuals with serious
medical conditions. Through a coordinated program, we conduct shipboard crew training while we are providing
therapeutic trips for those in need. All patients recieve a Honorary Captains Certificate with a polaroid photo of
them at the wheel.
